Carlos Laia

Carlos Laia is a senior mechanical engineer having 20 years experience in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and energy planning. Previously he has been Director of the Almada Local Energy Agency and assistant director at the National Energy Agency, responsible for the energy efficiency field. He is expert external evaluator for the Portuguese Innovation Agency for the energy field and was European Commission expert responsible for following THERMIE projects (renewable energies and energy efficiency projects). He is partner and manager of CEEETA-ECO.

Manuel Fernandes

Economist. Project Manager in energy and environmental economics area. Has a degree in Economy and Management (Amiens University, France) and Masters Degree in Energy Economics and Policy (Nanterre University – Paris X, France). At CEEETA he was project manager since 1988. Since 2001 he was member of the working team in charge of developing the National Climate Change Program and of the National Emission Ceilings Program. He was coordinator or member of project teams for evaluating externalities of energy fuel cycles for the generation of electricity in Portugal and Spain and the production of biofuels. Was involved in international projects aimed at developing tools and defining strategies for the larger deployment of renewable energies in the European Union. He has participated in the elaboration of various regional and national energy plans, as well as, in the evaluation of the economic and social impacts of the projects in the renewable resources of energy domain. He accumulated a large experience in areas, such as, energy and environmental modeling with the participation in national and international projects integrating the use of models, such as, MARKAL, LEAP, MEDEE, MEDEE SUD, ELFIN, MURELEC. He is partner and manager of CEEETA-ECO.

Cláudio Casimiro

Cláudio Casimiro graduated as Process and Energy Engineering from Universidade de Évora, post-graduated in Economical Sciences and is MBA from Technical University of Lisbon (ISEG). He was Project Manager at APVE – Portuguese Electric Vehicle Association. There, his activity included the organization of conferences and events and the coordination of research and demonstration projects in the transportation sector. He was project manager at the Algarve Regional Energy Agency (AREAL), where he developed technical and economic projects and studies on energy efficiency and renewable energies. He has also worked for the the Portuguese National Energy Agency, responsible for developing several energy audits to industrial sites. Since 2007 he is Project Manager at CEEETA-ECO where he is responsible for energy audits to industry and transports and for the elaboration of municipal electric mobility plans. He is co-author of several papers presented in international conferences in the energy and mobility area.

Ana Isabel Cardoso

M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico. Presently is attending to a Post-Graduation in Renewable Energies, having also preparation in energy certification – RSECE - Indoor Air Quality. Was researcher at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IDMEC - Pole IST) participating in national and international projects in the area of alternative fuels and urban fleets’ characterization, carrying out energy and environmental description of several fleets. She also has work experience in Environmental Noise, drafting measures to minimize traffic noise, acoustic conditions predictions and acoustic noise maps. In CEEETA-ECO has a research grant from FCT being mainly committed to the study of marine energies in Portugal.

CEEETA-ECO receives graduated people in a work placement within the framework of Leonardo and Erasmus Grant Programmes.
